Weinberg is abviously an atheist. see the chapter about God near the end of the book the consolation mentioned at the end of this chapter is a quite poor consolation for the pointlessness of his life in which he believes. at least he believes something.

Hope the reader will not be too distracted by this chapter. Nevertheless I like the writing of the rest of Weinberg's book more than S. Hawking's eventhough Hawkings knowledge about history of physics is quite good.

On page 187(2nd ed.?) Weinberg references "The Structure of Scientific Revolutions" by Thomas S. Kuhn. (Kuhn's book was also recommended by [the partner of] the man who loves the writings of B.A. Russell.)
